Beth Goren is engaged with movement, rhythms, and voice as both an art form and a pathway to health. She is a certified teacher-practitioner of Body-Mind Centering(R) since 1982, a founding member of Movement Research and the Body-Mind Centering Association, a registered Somatic Movement Therapist with Ismeta, and the Founder/Director of Hands-on Elders.
Beth has performed and taught throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, and the South Pacific rim. A fellowship from the Asian Cultural Council took her into Dani-Asmat hunter-gatherer culture to learn and document arts within ceremonial contexts. Her own array of arts (photography, poetry, writing, voice-movement practices) flavor her active life as a healing artist. Beth currently resides in Amherst, Massachusetts and travels to present workshops, slide-music shows from experiences with tribal culture, and movement-writing circles based on her book RAPIDS.
